The Big Science Competition is back!

Get your thinking caps on—the Big Science Competition is back for 2022!

In the past five years, more than 170,000 Year 7 to 10 students from over 750 schools have participated in the Big Science Competition. As one of the leading science extracurricular competitions in Australia, the Big Science Competition encourages students to think outside the box and solve problems.

This year, students who sit the competition have the chance to win one of four Apple iPads*. The Big Science Competition can also lead to BIG opportunities, including selection into Curious Minds, a coaching program for girls. The Big Science Competition is also a great way to prepare for the Junior Science Olympiad.

Because the Big Science Competition is mapped to the Australian Curriculum—Science, teachers receive a detailed reports about student performance. We also provide guidance on how these reports can be used to improve learning at a student, class and school level.

Each registration is $7 + GST and we encourage students to register through their school. Students who are home-schooled or who otherwise cannot sit the exam at their school, can contact us to arrange to sit the competition at home.

The Big Science Competition is also open to international schools and students.
