Australian Science Innovations congratulates Alumni on prestigious fellowship

ASI Alumni Caitlin McManus-Barrett, Sebastian Viner and Jacob Gome were awarded the prestigious Tuckwell Scholarship for undergraduates.

Now in its eighth year, the Tuckwell Scholarship is administered by the Australian National University and awarded to twenty-five students based on their intellect, character, leadership and commitment to Australia.

Sebastian Viner from Hobart College has participated in Australian Science Innovations programs for several years—he was selected for the 2019 Australian Science Olympiad Earth and environmental science Summer School, represented Australia at the 2019 International Earth Science Olympiad and won a silver medal. Additionally, Sebastian participated in the Australian Science Olympiad Physics Summer School, and finally, volunteered as a program staff member for the 2021 Australian Science Olympiad Earth and environmental science Summer School.

Caitlin McManus-Barrett, of Sydney Girls High School, participated in the 2020 Australian Science Olympiad Physics Summer School. She is studying a Bachelor of Philosophy (Science) and has a keen interest in astronomy and photonics, and is working towards a career in research and experimentation.

Jacob Gome participated in the 2020 Australian Science Olympiad Chemistry Summer School and returned this year to volunteer his time for the 2021 Australian Science Olympiad Chemistry Summer School.

Congratulations to our Alumni, and all Tuckwell Scholarship recipients. We look forward to hearing about your career success in the near future.
