A BIG giveaway for students taking part in the Big Science Competition
With more opportunities for students and great prizes up for grabs, get involved in the Big Science Competition and help make it our best year yet! Registration is free for all students—Australian and international—who would like to challenge their thinking and apply their scientific knowledge to real-life scenarios.

The Big Science Competition can also lead to BIG opportunities, including selection into Curious Minds, a coaching program for girls. The Big Science Competition is also a great way to prepare for the Junior Science Olympiad. The Junior Science Olympiad is designed to take science students in years 7 to 10 to the next level.
From there, a selection of students will be invited to participate in the International Junior Science Olympiads. All Australian students are eligible to take the Junior Science Olympiad exam, and registrations open 31 May 2020. Because the Big Science Competition is mapped to the Australian Curriculum—Science, teachers receive a detailed reports about student performance. We also provide guidance on how these reports can be used to improve learning at a student, class and school level.
