How to participate in the Curious Minds program
Curious Minds is an invitational program. Students are invited based on their performance in one of the following competitions:
2016 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) sponsored by the Commonwealth Bank
2017 Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT)
2017 Big Science Competition (BSC)
The program will be particularly targeted towards girls in underrepresented STEM subjects in years 9 and 10 who are disadvantaged, rural/remote and/or Indigenous.
Most of the costs will be covered by government funding. Participants will be asked to contribute $200 for the six-month program. This covers all travel, accommodation and living costs associated with the two camps. Attendees will be required to cover their own return transfers to and from their local airport.

The mentoring program will see each student matched with a female mentor based on STEM area of interest and, where possible, geographical location. Together they will construct personal goals for the student. This might include discussing study options and career pathways, undertaking further extension work with support from their mentor, developing ideas based on learnings from the camp or working on a project.
