Australian Science Innovations (ASI) would like to thank Minister Greg Hunt MP for his support and contribution for the science education sector during his tenure as Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science.
Minister Hunt has recently been appointed to Health portfolio in a cabinet reshuffle today.
Ruth Carr, Executive Director of ASI said Minister Hunt was a strong advocate of ASI’s science programs.
“His support through various initiatives under Australia’s innovation agenda is a testament to his understanding of the critical importance of science and innovation to Australia’s economic future. We wish him all the best in his new role as Minister of Health.
“We welcome Senator the Hon Arthur Sinodinos AO as the new Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science and look forward to continue working closely with him in realising Australia’s innovation potential,” said Ms Carr.
Science education continues to play a major role and with a strategic approach such as government support of hosting the 2019 Asian Physics Olympiad and Australia’s annual participation in the International Science Olympiads, Australia is well placed to maintain and further its global credibility and presence.
Mr Hunt held the industry, innovation and science portfolios since July 2016.
