We are thrilled to share the results of Australia’s participation at the UNESCO-sanctioned 2022 International Science Olympiads.

In July and August this year, 17 of our nation’s top science students competed against 800 of the world’s best in theory and practical exams to prove their scientific prowess.

The students have amassed an impressive medal tally of five gold, seven silver and five bronze.

Students competed online both remotely at home and together as a team. The student’s success is a testament to their hard work, adaptability and perseverance. Unfortunately, students did not participate in the International Biology Olympiad this year as a virtual competition was unable to be offered.

This year also marks the second year in a row that an Australian student has achieved the highest individual score at the International Earth Olympiads. This year, that student was Edmond Wu from Knox Grammar School.
