Dr Nick Hagan
Nick has worked as an executive at a NASDAQ-listed life sciences company and was previously CEO of its Australian subsidiary Mimotopes Pty Ltd, a specialist peptide manufacturing company. Nick has held Board and advisory roles in public and private technology companies, has co-founded two commercialisation start-ups and has also worked as a consultant in the biotechnology industry.
Between 2003 and 2006, Nick was Biology Director at the ASO and led teams that won 3 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze medals at International Biology Olympiad competitions. Nick features in the 2006 documentary Battle of the Brains screened on the Catalyst program on the ABC. Nick is also an alumnus of the ASO and was awarded a silver medal at the 1995 International Biology Olympiad in Thailand.
Nick obtained his Bachelor of Science (molecular biology and genetics) with first class honors from the University of Sydney, his PhD in plant molecular genetics from the Australian National University / CSIRO and undertook his Masters in Innovation Management at the Melbourne Business School.
